What are the main causes of homelessness?

Most Common Causes (In order):

1)Lack of affordable housing

2)Unemployment

3)Poverty

4)Mental Illness

5)Substance Abuse

All of these can create economic challenges.

A common economic challenge that can cause people to become homeless is a large bill that cannot be payed (can be medical, rental, etc.), leading do eviction.
