According to Abigail Stewart-Kahn, the Interim Director at San Francisco Department of Homelessness and Supportive Housing the best thing everyone can do for the homeless is "treat them like they are human."
In addition to this, here are some things she suggested to us:
-Educate yourself! (This is what our website and blogs are helping with)
-Treat people who are homeless as human (because they are)
-Have interactions! Look them in the eye! Do what you feel is necessary during the situation
-Have food and socks to give out (if possible)
-Money is helpful
-When giving money, you must know that the money will be used for whatever the person needs.
